9:10PM - Clive Barker, a picture

One of my friends thought that this picture is alarming - I should find a girlfriend etc. I guess that's the kind of joke any artist, dealing with nudity, is going to face.
It was conceived about 2 years ago, but I came to give it vent only a couple of days ago.

2:39AM - But It's Not a Wall!

And so I continue:

Full viewCollapse )Well, as usual, I'm not sure whether I like the drawing or not. As I rule I come to love my creations, but it happens afterwards. Right now I'm too dissatisfied with what I didn't manage + some ideas come too late, when it's almost finished... I regret not making the wall a bit more "handy"

2:04AM - Dr. Channard - Dr. Spok Single Cover

Here we see Dr. Channard. He's got tired of all that hellish surgery and decided to have a vocation playing in an infernal punk-rock band. They perform things in the best traditions of Ramones and The Damned. Beware.

SO HERE'S THE BLACK AND WHITE VERSION OF THEIR FIRST SINGLE!

Color version, back cover and an interview with Dr. Channard coming up.

1:26AM - My vision of Cenobites

As you can see, I got back to the text and tried to convey the cenobites as close to the descriptions in the novella as possible.
I think, I succeeded =)

4:31PM - Happy birthday!

My greetings on behalf of clivebarker_ru!
Today is a most celebrated date for us all - 56 years ago a little baby was brought to this world in the city of Liverpool, an the child was dubbed Clive.
So let's raise our glasses in honour of the great man this child has become!
Hail, Clive!

Happy birthday!

6:36PM - MMT

If you have Fearnet on your cable's On Demand section, you can now watch the Midnight Meat Train for free in its entirety. I have Comcast and I'm watching it right now. It's also introduced by Clive, and he sounds much better now than he has in a while.

You can also see the Clive clip at http://www.fearnet.com/ and it looks like MMT will be streaming online there starting on the 30th.

4:07PM - Clive's photo

Could someone please share a high-definition photo of young Clive? I want to put one amongst the photos of my favourite people, but there's no photo I like... Help the beggar!

2:42PM - Midnight Meat Train - speech at "Comic Con" before the first screening

I took some spare time to write it down:

2:17AM - Body Politics - an illustration

...well, those, who've read the story, will easily grasp the meaning of my picture. Vive la revolution!

9:43PM

Did anyone manage to find a theater playing the Midnight Meat Train near them? Here in Atlanta, it was dumped onto one screen at a theater about 30 miles away from the city. It was a dollar theater no less. I'm pretty insulted for Clive and Kitamura that their film ended up at a dollar theater as a first run property, but it's obvious Lionsgate didn't care about them or the fans.

That said, I thought it was pretty good. I was worried about the story that was created to turn this into a movie, but it ended up being okay. Aside from the invented story and characters, it's pretty close to the short story. It's not there 100%, but it's pretty close. Anyone else get to see it?

11:05PM

For those who were concerned about Clive's voice over the past few years, he's made a "thank you" on his official site:

"Over the past couple of years at signings, people have often come up to me saying, 'Your voice doesn't sound too good, are you OK?' So, to all those people who have shown me kindness and concern, I would like to say 'Thank You'. There was an issue - I have had polyps on my throat which has constricted my breathing and affected my voice - and this has just recently been addressed, with great success.

"I am feeling far healthier and more energetic! I may be a little less talkative for a short while, but it's all good news and I want to make a point of thanking all of you who have shown concern - it has been much appreciated..."

Good news if he's getting healthier and had that taken care of. :D
